først og fremmest om nye former for praksis, som er kendetegnet ved at være baseret på brugerdelta-
gelse, peer-evaluering og kollaborativ meningsproduktion samt ændrede holdninger til viden; at ’mas-
sernes’ viden kan være lige så troværdig som eksperternes og at deling af viden og distribueret ejer-
skab er blevet almindeligt og acceptabelt (Ibid.). Dette betyder også, at der i de nye praksisformer lig-
ger en implicit ændret forståelse af, hvad kommunikation, viden og læring er. Kommunikation ses
mindre som overførsel af information fra en afsender til en modtager og mere som en gensidig skabel-
se af mening gennem interaktion. Viden ses tilsvarende mindre som en tilstand hos det enkelte individ
og mere som anvendelse af information i nye sammenhænge eller som distribueret mellem forskellige
individer – for eksempel som netværk af individer der bidrager til Wikipedia. Læring bliver derfor
mere et spørgsmål om, at kunne være fleksibel og omstillingsparat gennem deltagelse frem for evnen
til at tilegne sig viden og færdigheder (Ibid.). På baggrund af O’Reilly og Dohn og Johnsens karakteri-
